Economic Development Commission

  • The next meeting of the EDC will be held on Thursday, August 6th at 7 pm via Zoom. Instructions for participating in the meeting are here and materials for the meeting are here
     

  • The EDC's Business Relief Fund is still in place to provide local business owners with a small but immediate loan (which may under certain circumstances be forgiven). Details about the program and the online application form are available here
     

  • The State provides tax credits for general rehabilitation work, code compliance work, and façade improvements in designated downtown areas. If you are a building owner contact Bill Kerbin, our Town Manager (wkerbin@townofwoodstock.org) for assistance, and you can find further information about the program here
     

  • The TV ad campaign for Woodstock is no longer live, but you can view the ads for 22 local merchants here.
     

  • The Storefront Incentive Program remains in effect. If you are interested in opening a retail establishment in downtown Woodstock, you may be eligible for incentives. Learn more here and see NBC5's coverage of the program here.
     

  • There is currently a vacancy on the EDC. Interested applicants should have attended in person at least one EDC meeting. Application forms are available here and should be submitted to Town Hall.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) is to plan and implement sustainable economic development in Woodstock, in order to:

  • Increase the number of visitors who are most likely to develop connections to the area and contribute to the economy

  • Grow and diversify the resident population to enrich the community and the quality of life.
