As a WNS alum and now mother of two, I believe the EDC should support this grant proposal. Woodstock is in desperate need of quality early childhood education. There is a national shortage of options as childcare businesses remain too expensive to run and therefore too expensive for parents. Childcare needs to be supported by communities until we can start funding like we do other necessities with tax dollars and legislation (fire department etc.).

Yes! Investing in childcare is one of the most impactful things the EDC can do right now.
Agreed! These childcare providers are absolutely critical to working families. Both my wife and I had to give up time and compensation at our jobs because of the impossible childcare environment until they reached school age. Every dollar counts for these providers and they are well worth EDC support.
Completely agree. We need to support any and all childcare proposals if we want to keep the young families here in town. It's impossible to live and work here without any childcare options.
I completely agree. This town needs to put more resources into childcare in order to keep young families from moving. My daughter has been on a waitlist for daycare since this summer and then we found out on Friday that she will not be offered a seat in the WES Pre-K program. The lack of available childcare and early education in our community makes continuing to live here nearly unviable.
