This grant would go towards marketing and finding a place to host a Women Artisans of Vermont Market one weekend per year. This would be a juried all handmade show focused on female artisans from Vermont. There is a very successful similar show that takes place in Burlington each year, but it would be nice to have something in central vermont.
Project Budget
$2,500 - $4,999
Desired Grant Amount
$2,500 - $4,999
Other Funding Sources
I’d like to charge a fee for vendors, but I’d like to keep it affordable. I’d like to market this across new england
Project Timeframe
I’m not sure- thinking a summer market weekend or a holiday market weekend, perhaps the weekend between thanksgiving weekend and Wassail weekend?
How will this project benefit the economic and community development of Woodstock?
It would attract consumers who appreciate handmade artisan goods. It would hopefully attract locals, and would become an annual event.
Which EDC Working Grouop Objectives does your project best support?
Marketing (Marketing Woodstock to attract more visitors and permanent residents), Attracting New Businesses (Attracting businesses to Woodstock)
Other Objectives
Project Collaborations
No, not yet, but I’d like to. This is VERY preliminary.
Additional Comments
Again, very preliminary, but it could be a big draw of Vermonters to the area for a weekend. Maybe May or June weekend, or perhaps a holiday market? Open to thoughts / suggestions? Could be indoor or outdoor? Maybe the green, elm st, east end park? We could get some food trucks involved??
